Thin Red Line was my first guess, which actually is taken from Augustine's Confessions I learned here: http://bavatuesdays.com/is-this-darkness-in-you-too/
But then I realized that was wrong and then I realized you were quoting The Shadow, and only the Shadow knows, right?
Oh wow, got it right in the first comment! The Shadow is right! It's one of my favourite movies, even now and I was under the impression that I was in the minority. How did you figure it out?
Speaking of The Shadow, have you ever checked out the old radio show version. Orson Welles was one of several actors who played The Shadow over the years.
In fact, I didn't even know that it was a movie. When did it come out? It seems like Hollywood is running out of new ideas and keeps recycling classics from the past (please forgive my editorializing in your comment thread).
I knew this quote - I wish I would have dropped by sooner. I finally would have nailed one of these challenges.
The movie version I'm referencing is the 1994 version starring Alec Baldwin, which I believe was before Hollywood got into that recycling classics trend...but for all I know they might've been doing it for far longer?
Awesome movie though... As an art major I usually have an aversion to most thing that look "dated", which I must admit isn't a good trait to have. But I love this movie :P Makes me wanna pull out my DVD and watch it again...but it's past 1 am haha
